KMCC vs. TCC Match Report

It was a sense of relief to see Shiloh in very good shape inspite of overnight rain. The 3-4 days of hot sun during the week had allowed the ground to dry up and the it looked that the Friday evening/night rain did not cause any damage.

The toss was won by KMCC who elected to bat the match got off to a prompt start at 9.30 AM. KMCC were soon in trouble against a steady TCC opening attack and were reduced to 36/6 in the 14th over. However some ordinary bowling and steady sensible batting by Khalid and Muzzafar took the KMCC score to 110 in the 26 over when both Khalid and Muzzafar were dismissed with a couple of balls of each other. A flurry of shots in the last few overs saw KMCC post a decent total of 142.

TCC had a set back early on when Rajesh Virkar played early and popped an easy catch to bowler in the 2nd over. However Ravi and Raman flayed the KMCC attack all over Shiloh and managed to keep a run rate of 10 of the first 10 overs. Once again Raman played very attackingly. Ravi gave him good company but played a few loose shots. He had a couple of letoffs until KMCC finally managed to get the 2nd wicket with only 5 runs needed for victory. Aravind managed to pull the very next ball for a six over midwicket to complete a comprehensive victory for TCC. Many thanks to Fergus Robertson for some very competent and consistent umpiring.
